For the love of cooking…

I love cooking! Many know this as I love everything about it. I go beyond the regular reasons why we cook. I think that every person that cooks puts a special touch to their dishes. As a child I was a very easy child with tasting foods. Veggies, and fruits were big for me and I would prefer them over sweets, and other dishes. As I grew up, I loved watching people cook and wanted to know why they put certain things. I also appreciated the simplier foods. If there is food you know who to call to come over, lol!

I tried to post a  picture of the gawumpkies that I made this morning that are cooking in the crockpot as we speak. It took me a half an hour to prepare and make them and it will take a few hours cooking until we can chow on these sweeties.

I will have to open a picture account somewhere as the pictures were too big. WordPress is not as easy uploading pics as xanga. Oh! I will figure this out.

This morning I made homemade oatmeal with cinnamon and honey. Although the kids were looking at that chocolate sheet cake  that I made last night after the children were in bed, which I shouldn’t have made as all I talk about is eating better, and cutting the sweets out. It all started with dh putting cookies in the cart. Way to go honey! I guess I admit I have no will power with certain things that have to do with chocolate. Reap what you sow right?

Savings today…

Folks I have to be honest with you. I have been on and off the track many times before with coupons. But with a more frugal future in the making I am now back on track. I think getting back on track was in part of a wonderful blog that I came across sometime ago http://www.moneysavingmom.com/ the mama of this blog posted many great posts about couponing, savings and other great subjects to give my eyes and my ears a listening too!

This morning I went to Eckard drugstore and with the circular in hand I scored 2 good items that I am very familiar with and love. Shout laundry pre-treater laundry spray and Electrsol powder. I do prefer the tabs with the jetdry ball but a deal is a deal and I was right there to bring home the bacon.

Eckard had a in-circular coupon for $1.00 off of the shout spray.  The shout is on sale for $1.99 then I used a manufactures coupon for .50 cents off and got the spray for a whopping $.49 cents. Then I browsed the electrosol section I was looking for my stand true tabs with the jetdry ball or tabs period but they only had the gel and powder. The powder I chose which is on sale for $2.99 for 75 oz., I then used a $2.25 coupon off of that and then Eckards has a one check rebate offer for $1.50 back. You can get the form or just get on the computer and fill out saving the $.41 cent stamp and envelope in your collection. I also asked since this was the first time in an Eckard, “Does your store have a club  card like all the other chain store places have?”. The lady said “Nope, just a senior citizens card”. So I said, “Well that’s not for me yet! Now on to getting some deals with CVS. After learning about CVS through Krystal’s site I now understand. This is so much fun that I think I will make this into another hobby of mine besides reading.

Welcome to my blog!

I am so excited to start this new blog. Hopefully this time around I can do what I wanted to and have it organized so it is easier to navigate unlike my other blog.

The purpose of this blog is a happy one. Trying to blogpool family, friends, and acquaintances that could be possible future friends all in one happy spot. This is just an outlet for my feelings. I will try my hardest to devote a certain amount of time each day, or week after all my other jobs as wife and mother to many are followed through of course. Hey, I might even post pictures, and maybe figure how to re-do the top header with a real willow tree which by the way is my favorite tree, and make my blog look great for FREE. Because free or cheap deals is my forte.

P.S.- Sometimes you might see big words that I might use on a post. They just come to mind with this mama brain of mine.
